If you wanted to find the value of a home on your street, you no longer need to contact a Real Estate agent or Real Estate broker! All you need is a Smart Phone and the ability to take a phone of it.
Yes, it’s that simple. Am app called Homesnap allows users to take a photo of a home and get the details on the home. According to Homesnaps website they have information on more than 90 million homes in their catalog.
With Homesnap the app works in 3 different stages where the users is promoted to take a photo of the home 1st. Then using the GPS antenna of the Smart Phone, a map of the immediate area of the home is displayed. The user then is promoted to identify the exact property that they want to associate with the photo.
To test the app, we took a photo of a home across our Los Gatos house and the app worked as advertised by displaying the the property detail including on:
1) Property Address
2) Number of Bedrooms
3) Number of Bathrooms
4) Size (By Sqft)
5) Lot Size (by Acres)
6) Value Estimate (Low, High)
7) Comment
8) Option to Add a Star
10) Option to post with Email, Message or Twitter or Facebook
In our case the app did NOT display any new photos since we know the property has not been on the market for a long time. The app then offers the users an option to Save their favorite homes and email, post or publish the information to Twitter or Facebook.
This app is Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
The pro of the Homesnap are obvious which is a neat opportunity to find a homes details. However, we would love to be able to have the app linked to the Public Records so we could identify the home owners and mortgage history.
Have you used this app!? Let us know what you think?
