Do you want to know if it’s a good time to sell your Milpitas house!?  Do you want to know the value of your Milpitas home?  The answer is just a snap away, literally.   Thanks to a Smart Phone app called Homesnap,  all you need to do it to take a photo of your home and the rest is done for you!

With Homesnap the app prompts the user to take a photo with his/her smart phone.   Then using the GPS antenna of the Smart Phone displays a map of the immediate area. The user then is promoted to identify the exact property that they want to associate with the photo.   The rest is magic sine the app will display the following information on the home:

1) Property Address
2) Number of Bedrooms
3) Number of Bathrooms
4) Size  (By Sqft)
5) Lot Size (by Acres)
6) Value Estimate (Low, High)

User then can add a Comment or Mark it as a Favorite in addition to posting the information through Facebook,or Twitter.  The app also offers an option to email as well.  In our case the app did NOT display any new photos since we know the property has not been on the market for a long time.  The app then offers the users an option to Save their favorite homes and email, post or publish the information to Twitter or Facebook.

This app  works with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

According to Homesnaps website they have information on more than 90 million homes in their catalog.  The benefits of using Homesnap are obvious since it takes the guess work out of the finding home values if you find yourself in an unfamiliar neighborhood.   However, we would love to be able to have the app linked to the Public Records so we could identify the home owners and mortgage history.

Have you used this app!?  Let us know what you think?
